Rachel Hemdal, MA, NCC, LMHC-A, is a graduate of Valparaiso University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC-A). Rachel has clinical experience with children, teens, and adults on the autism spectrum, as well as individuals facing other mental health challenges. She integrates techniques and approaches primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Play Therapy.
Rachel believes that everyone faces unique challenges and environments, which is why therapy should be tailored to meet those specific needs and meet clients where they are in their journey. She works to foster an environment where clients and families feel supported and understood as individuals. Rachel provides a safe and accepting space for all, and she is also an LGBTQ+ supportive therapist.
Rachel’s clinical interests and focus areas include working with children and teens with autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma, and identity development.
