Rachel Hemdal, MA NCC LMHC-A is a graduate from Valparaiso University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC-A). Mrs. Hemdal has clinical experience with children, teens, and adults on the autism spectrum and other mental health issues. She integrates techniques and approaches primarily from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Play Therapy.
Mrs. Hemdal finds everyone has their own unique challenges and environments therefore the therapy style should match those specific needs and meet the client where they are in their journey. Mrs. Hemdal works to foster an environment where clients and families feel supported and understood as individuals. Mrs. Hemdal provides a safe and accepting space for all and is also an LGBTQ+ supporting therapist.
Mrs. Hemdal’s clinical interests/focus areas include working with children and teens with autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma, and identity development.
