Lyndsey Hansen is a second-year Master’s level therapist intern. She is currently in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Valparaiso University. Lyndsey is a graduate of Butler University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Lyndsey has previously worked as an intern at a community mental health agency and has experience in facilitating group and individual sessions. Lyndsey also worked for five years as a psychometrist at a neuropsychological private practice where she gained experience in administering and scoring assessments with individuals. She utilizes multiple approaches to therapy, including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotion focused therapy.
Lyndsey prioritizes making her clients feel understood, heard, and validated. She believes the therapeutic relationship is an important element of the therapeutic process. Lyndsey aims to create a warm and judgment free environment where clients can feel safe to be themselves and to freely open up.
