Katia Romero is a second-year master’s student and therapist intern. She is currently enrolled in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Valparaiso University. She is also working towards being certified in Trauma-Informed Care. She is expected to graduate, and be certified, August 2023. She works with different age groups using a variety of evidence-based approaches. Katia believes the client holds the key to their therapeutic journey. At times therapy can feel uncomfortable and painful for clients. Therefore, she strives to create and maintain an open, safe, and nurturing space where the client can grow and feel empowered.
