Cathryn Cearing is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor-Associate and a graduate from Indiana University Bloomington, where she received a Master of Science in Counseling and Counselor Education. While in her program, Cathryn researched the effects of gratitude and meaning-making on mental health and worked with university students from a variety of backgrounds to provide psychoeducation, explore strengths, and meet goals on the topics of substance use harm-reduction and mental health.

Cathryn uses an integrative approach to the therapeutic process to help clients gain self-awareness, identify challenges, and gain skills and resources to continue meeting goals outside of the therapy room. In her practice, Cathryn prioritizes collaboration and eliciting honest feedback to empower her clients to create meaningful change in their lives. Cathryn embraces the belief that her clients inherently have the ability to grow, heal, and become their best selves, and that her role is to create a safe environment where those changes can begin. Cathryn is an LGBTQIA+-affirming and COVID-conscious practitioner.
