Caitlin Amos is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor-Associate and graduate of Grand Canyon University where she received her MS in Professional Counseling. Previously, she earned a BS in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. While in her graduate program, Caitlin worked with foster parents who were seeking adoption and provided support in the Nurturing Parent Education Program. Caitlin spent several years working with the senior population providing support through community engagement, connecting to community resources, and providing emotional support. Caitlin has experience working alongside DCS as a Family Preservation Therapist working with children and families who are at risk for out of home placement. Caitlin has received training focused on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders to provide support to pregnant and postpartum mothers who are struggling with pregnancy related mood disorders. Caitlin is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, and Motivational Interviewing. Caitlin’s passion focuses on working with youth who have experienced traumas in order to provide essential supports through psychoeducation, relaxation skills, affect modulation, and cognitive coping which ultimately provides the foundation for youth to feel empowered and safely process their traumatic experience. Caitlin prioritizes meeting her client where they are at, focusing on identifying the goals that the client has, and validating the client’s feelings and needs.
