Alyssa Riege is an intern in her second year of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Valparaiso University. Alyssa is a graduate of University of Iowa where she received her undergraduate degree with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Alyssa has experience working in community mental health with children and adolescents, as well as in a college counseling center with young adults, and has experience leading group and individual sessions. She utilizes multiple approaches to therapy, including person-centered, emotion-focused, strengths-based, solution-focused, multicultural, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral techniques.

Alyssa believes counseling can be helpful to everyone at some point in their life. She aims to provide the best care possible and a non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable enough to open up to her and trust her with whatever they are going through.
