My goal as a therapist is to have a secure environment where my clients can openly express themselves authentically and feel heard throughout their therapeutic journey. I believe in combining therapeutic modalities to provide individuals an opportunity to feel supported in an atmosphere of unconditional positive regard. By gaining an understanding of the client, I can focus on their strengths and core values to establish a foundation with a solutions-based treatment.
I have worked as a mental health counselor primarily with adolescents and young adults. I provide a safe space for all, but in particular, LGBT+ identified persons in the Northwest Indiana area to simply be themselves. My background also involves experiences with maladaptive/self-harming behaviors that may be connected to trauma, depression or anxiety.
I believe everyone can gain a new skill from counseling. For the teenagers who just wish to be genuinely heard by someone, or you wish to gain the skills to communicate more effectively with family or friends; please consider scheduling a session. Everyone deserves a safe space.
