Mr. Sullivan is a graduate of Valparaiso University where he received a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC-A). Mr. Sullivan has a clinical background working with a wide variety of mental health issues across an array of age groups and populations, with experiences in substance use facilities as well as general outpatient services. He utilizes a variety of approaches to counseling, with influences drawn from existential, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and Solutions Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
Mr. Sullivan believes in creating a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment for clients to explore and process their thoughts and emotions with the intention of exploring and getting in touch with their authentic self. Mr. Sullivan believes that the finding of personal meaning can be a cathartic experience, and can provide a client with a sense of purpose which can guide a client to the next steps on their mental health journey.
