Dr. Brown has over 20 years of experience as a Psychologist.  Her primary specialty is Family and Systems Therapy. This means that even when she meets with you individually, she will also consider the people, groups, and systems connect with; families, friends, organizations, culture, religion, and pets, in order to be helpful to you.

 

Dr. Brown has provided psychotherapy at a Community Mental Health Center and in private practice.  She has taught as an adjunct professor and has been the Clinical Training Director for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Valparaiso University.  She currently serves as the undergraduate Psychology Internship director and instructor at Valparaiso University.  She volunteers with the American Red Cross and the Indiana FSSA to provide disaster mental health services to people affected by local and national disasters.  She also serves on the Northwest Indiana Critical Incident Stress Management team.
