My name is Lisa Wedow, Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I was born and raised on a pig farm in Northwestern Indiana. I enjoy horseback riding, exercise and spending time outdoors. I attended Purdue University, where I graduated with a BA in Psychology. I then attended Valparaiso University, where I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I became a therapist in 2008, and have worked in various settings, including prisons, schools and from the comfort of my own home via tele-health. I have also worked in private practice, in both clinical and supervisory roles. I utilize an eclectic approach, with a focus on cognitive behavioral, solution focused, and person centered therapies. I believe that the modality employed should be dependent upon what best suits each individual client. I have certifications in trauma informed care and human sexuality. I have experience with employee assistance programs, crisis intervention (including suicide risk), grief counseling and the treatment of mood disorders, including anxiety and depression. I believe that we all deserve to experience life as our best selves, and I am honored to have the opportunity to assist others in reaching their personal optimal level of functioning.
