Julie Greenberg, MSW, LCSW

Merrillville, Telehealth

Education

School:

Indiana University Northwest

Degree:

Master of Social Work

Julie has been in the mental health field for nearly 20 years. She knew she was called to this profession while in high school, so she pursued her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She later went on to earn a Master of Social Work from Indiana University Northwest and obtain her license as an LCSW. Julie has had the privilege of gaining experience with diverse populations and is sensitive to the fact that all people experience things differently; those differences should be honored and explored. Her priority is building a trusting therapeutic relationship, where she works together with clients as a team to explore and examine what they bring to therapy and guide them to a place of wellness or simply be present and hold space while they process. She believes that there is no better time than the present and that every moment is a gift. We are not defined by one moment in our lives. Sometimes, often due to difficult events and challenges, we lose sight of our strengths and our places of empowerment. We can feel stuck, lost, confused, or empty. Julie is enthusiastic about exploring these feelings with clients, understanding their interests, drawing out their strengths, and applying new strategies to help them feel more confident in their ability to navigate life’s challenges. She looks forward to creating a safe space in therapy to observe and challenge perspectives, as well as encourage clients to carry out new skills outside of the therapy session. She not only wants clients to be their best selves, but their true selves. We are always learning, always changing, and always growing. Life’s a journey, not a destination.
