Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling
Brittnie has been working with clients in the mental health field for the past five years. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Purdue Northwest and recently completed her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling through Walden University in the spring. In the past, she has worked with a variety of clients ranging in age from four to adults. As she begins her career at Pillars, Brittnie wants her clients to know that she will provide a safe and comfortable environment for them to share their stories and experiences. As a therapist, she works hard to build trust and rapport so clients feel secure enough to explore their experiences and achieve their goals.
Brittnie has deep compassion for meeting clients where they are in order to help them get where they want to go in their skill-building journey. Working with children of different age groups over the past five years has taught her valuable skills such as patience and grace, which she will continue to utilize in her work with children and adolescents.
She has used various evidence-based practices as a skills coach and will continue incorporating them as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Some of these include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Zones of Regulation, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and person-centered therapy. Utilizing these approaches helps children and adolescents identify and challenge negative thought patterns.
Whether someone is working to develop coping skills for trauma or learning techniques to regulate emotions, Brittnie is committed to supporting them on their journey toward healing.
