She completed her internship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where she received training in conducting forensic evaluations and treating severe mental illness.

Dr. Apodaca has experience treating anxiety, chronic depression, relationship and family issues, history of trauma, grief and loss, and life stressors (divorce, major transitions, etc.). She utilizes a psychodynamic and attachment-based approach to understanding clients, and uses the therapeutic relationship to help facilitate growth toward identified goals. Dr. Apodaca views therapy as a collaborative relationship, and she will work with her clients to develop attainable goals and identify the best approach to do so. She wants therapy to be empowering for each of her clients, and encourages honest feedback about the process, so that it can be as beneficial as possible. She hopes that therapy can be a place where skills are learned and practiced, so that they can be implemented in day to day life, promoting overall healthier and happier ways of
living.
