Candace (they/them) is a dedicated and affirming therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University and a certificate in trauma-informed care. They are currently pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology, with research focused on eating disorders, familial dynamics, and the long-term impacts of corporal punishment.

Rooted in values of ethics, equity, and empathy, Candace integrates existential, humanistic, and narrative theories into their work and remains open to incorporating new approaches and trainings to best serve their clients’ evolving needs. Their clinical experience includes working with individuals in private practice, substance use partial hospitalization programs, and child-adolescent and family therapy settings.

Candace has experience supporting clients with trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation/self-harm, self-esteem and self-worth challenges, career/vocational exploration, eating disorders/disordered eating, and 2SLGBTQIA+ issues. They are especially passionate about holding space for individuals whose identities and stories are often marginalized.
