This role qualifies as a Center of Excellence (CoE) position, offering clinicians a structured pathway to build specialized expertise in a focused program area while maintaining a reduced caseload. The CoE model supports both personal growth and organizational advancement by allowing time for program leadership, development, and innovation.
We are currently seeking a Sport Psychology Specialist to lead and grow our sport and performance-focused mental health program. This position involves working with athletes, teams, coaches, and athletic departments to address mental health, performance optimization, injury recovery, and overall well-being through evidence-based therapeutic approaches. The role is ideal for a clinician passionate about integrating psychological resilience, mental skills training, and holistic wellness into sports settings.
Clinicians in this role will also contribute to curriculum development, community partnerships, and the expansion of sport psychology services across schools, universities, and community organizations.
- Provide individual therapy, group sessions, and workshops focused on mental skills training, performance anxiety, motivation, and recovery.
- Support athletes in developing tools for resilience, focus, goal-setting, emotional regulation, and confidence.
- Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other professionals to promote a culture of mental health awareness and performance excellence.
- Develop and refine psychoeducational materials for athletes, parents, and teams.
- Offer consultation and support around transitions (e.g., injury recovery, retirement from sport, performance slumps).
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in supervision and collaborative program development aligned with sport psychology best practices.
- Promote a culturally competent, trauma-informed, and athlete-centered approach in all service delivery.
- Assist in mentoring clinicians and interns interested in sport and performance psychology.
- Fully licensed or associate-level mental health professional (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, HSPP, or equivalent).
- Experience working with athletes, teams, or in sports settings is highly preferred.
- Training or certification in sport psychology, performance enhancement, or mental skills coaching is a plus.
- Strong clinical skills in individual and group therapy.

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary settings.

- Ability to work independently and flexibly in hybrid environments.
